Licensing

Important: If you are using the advanced features of XenServer 6.1.0, you require a XenServer 6.1.0 license for each host in a pool and a Citrix License Server virtual appliance (version 11.6.1 or later) or the Windows-based Citrix License Server software (version 11.6.1 or later).

A Citrix License Server virtual appliance with a pre-installed XenServer 6.1.0 license is available for download from the Citrix XenServer Download page. To use an existing Citrix License Server with this release, it must be version 11.6.1 or later. For information on downloading and installing the Citrix License Server virtual appliance, see the Knowledge Base article, Citrix License Server Virtual Appliance for XenServer.


XenServer Conversion Manager

XenServer Conversion Manager helps you convert workloads from VMware to XenServer by copying batches of VMware virtual machines into your XenServer environment. XenServer Conversion Manager is available from the XenServer Conversion Tools page.

Citrix XenServer Workload Balancing 6.1.0 Release Notes

  • Workload Balancing is a virtual appliance that evaluates Virtual Machine (VM) workloads. Workload Balancing can relocate VMs so they run on the optimum hosts in the pool for their resource utilization.
  • Workload Balancing can also power off underutilized hosts and power them on again when the workloads require additional resources.
  • Workload Balancing reports workload performance in your XenServer environment.
